Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez joined forces on Wednesday in Miami for the third rally of the DNC's "Unity Tour." Once again, the audience reacted negatively towards Perez.
After the bruising losses suffered by the party in 2016, Perez and Sanders are traveling across the country on a "Unity Tour" in an attempt to rebuild a grassroots movement and increase activism among voters in purple and red states.
Perez delivered a fiery speech before Sanders took the stage to address issues ranging from healthcare to college affordability.
"I want to thank Tom Perez for his remarks," Sanders said, before the crowd began booing him for thanking Perez.
This is not the first time that the crowd has booed Perez's recognition during the "Unity Tour" rallies.
A guest speaker suggested during Monday's rally in Portland, Maine that some of the attendees were attending the rallies because of their curiosity about the new DNC chairman, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
The crowd booed when she mentioned Perez, which is likely a sign that the DNC will have to bridge the gap among many grassroots activists who still feel that the DNC is not looking out for their best interests.
It was reported last year after the Democratic primary that top officials at the DNC derided the Sanders campaign during the primary, despite the committee publicly insisting that they were neutral during the primary, according to the New York Times
