On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 1400 hours, members of the Brooklyn South Gang Unit were on patrol in the vicinity of Bedford Avenue and Maple Street, within the confines of the 71 Precinct, when they observed a 2009 blue Nissan Maxima traveling eastbound on Maple Street with heavily tinted windows and a cover on its rear license plate. The detectives pulled the car over in front 264 Maple Street, and as they approached the vehicle, encountered a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the Maxima.
